Mission: The Cyber Military Intelligence Group (CMIG) supports ARCYBER operations, Multi-Domain Operations (MDO),
and army information advantage by providing intelligence to Cyber Operations (CO), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Information Operations (IO)
that will enable Information Dominance while operating, defending, and influencing in the Information Dimension (ID).
The CMIG was established on 1 November, 2021, and received its Official Permanent Orders from INSCOM standing up the unit.
U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) and U.S. Army Intelligence and Security
Command, foreseeing the vastly increasing scope of a global cyberspace
mission, determined the need for a military intelligence organization solely
focused on supporting cyber operations. The Cyber Military Intelligence
Group (CMIG) was developed to support ARCYBER's mission to integrate and
conduct cyberspace operations, electromagnetic warfare, and information
operations, ensuring decision dominance and freedom of action for friendly
forces in and through the cyber domain and the information dimension, while
denying the same to our adversaries. It is designed to perform functions not
found elsewhere in the intelligence community.
The CMIG will blend traditional Military Intelligence disciplines with
commercial data, publicly available information on foreign adversaries, and
certain national intelligence systems to provide the insight necessary for
ARCYBER to operate and defend Army networks and influence foreign audiences.
Its unique information advantage-focused, multi-discipline, cross-specialty
teams bring together intelligence and non-intelligence and network
operations data from a variety of public and other sources to provide
ARCYBER's operations center with products that support decision-making.
