Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Kyle J. Gillam
Command Sergeant Major Kyle J. Gillam assumed responsibility as Command
Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), on June 2,
2022.
CSM Gillam is a native of Lafayette, Indiana. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June
1996, as an Intelligence Analyst. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South
Carolina, with follow on training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
CSM Gillam has served in every leadership position from Team Leader, First Sergeant,
J2 Senior Enlisted Advisor, Battalion CSM and Brigade CSM. His stateside
assignments include Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Military District of Washington, DC;
Fort Huachuca, Arizona; and Fort Gordon, Georgia. His overseas assignments include
Youngsan, Republic of Korea. He has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING
FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM and Global War on Terrorism.
CSM Gillam previously served as the 706th Military Intelligence Group, Command
Sergeant Major, and National Security Agency (NSA) Georgia, Central Security Service
Georgia, Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
CSM Gillam's military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course,
Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course,
Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster Course, SERE Course, and the
Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy.
CSM Gillam earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Management degree from
American Military University.
CSM Gillam’s awards include the Bronze Star (2nd award), Defense Meritorious Service
Medal (4th award), Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Army Commendation Medal
(4th award), Joint Service Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal,
Joint Meritorious Unit Award (2nd award), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), Army
Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (4th award), Global War on
Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional
Development Ribbon (5th award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Drill
Sergeant Badge, and the Master Parachutist Badge.
