Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Eric M. Schmitz

Commanging Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Eric M. Schmitz assumed responsibility as Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), on 19 September 2017.

CSM Schmitz enlisted in the Army, on 24 November 1992 were he reported to One Station Unit training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Upon graduation he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 54B, Chemical Specialist. In 1996, CSM Schmitz reclassified and was awarded the 96D MOS, Imagery Analyst.

CSM Schmitz earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Cochise College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wayland Baptist University. His military education include Primary Leadership Development Course, Airborne School, Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (High Risk) School, Basic and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Courses, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Basic Instructor Training Course, Small Group Leader Instructor Course, TENCAP Data Analyst Course, First Sergeant Course, SGM Force Management Course, Modern Army Combatives Level 1 and 2, Joint Interrogator Certification Course, Tactical Strength and Conditioning Practitioners course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.

CSM Schmitz is a recipient of the Knowlton Award for demonstrated excellence in the Military Intelligence Corps and was inducted into the Sergeant Audie Murphy club in 2005.
